Mission Statement

To preserve MAYS CHAPEL PARK as green space under the supervision of the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks.

Our Position

Allow the Mays Chapel Park to remain standing, and the proposed school to be placed in another location in Baltimore County or remain at its current location near Charles Street. This will allow the large senior population residing in Mays Chapel to continue to use this park for exercise and needed socialization, as well as, allow Baltimore County Parks and Recreation to continue their use of athletic fields at this location by the youth of Baltimore County.

Contact your Baltimore County representatives and let them know you are opposed to the construction of a school in Mays Chapel Park. Click one of the options below for information on who to contact.

Dear Interested Party,

The SAVE MAYS CHAPEL PARK committee requests your support on rezoning Mays Chapel Park. Councilman McIntire has included a proposal to change the county's comprehensive zoning map's designation for the park from DR 3.5 ( dense residential) to RC 7 (Resource Preservation). A hearing will be held at Loch Raven High School on Tuesday, March 11 at 7 PM. If you want to speak, your sign in is at 6 PM. The more people at the meeting and the more letters, the better our chances are of preserving our park for posterity.

The committee also requests that you write a letter supporting the zoning change. Letters and envelopes should be addressed as follows:

Envelope:

ISSUE #3-217

Letter:
Dear Coordinator,
Re: Issue #3-217

The rezoning was requested by our County Councilman Bryan McIntire. We certainly should support Bryan in his effort and show up at the hearing and write a letter. The zoning change in itself may not preclude the end of the school debate but it certainly is a step in the right direction.

Sincerely,

Angelo DelNegro
Chairman
